Parental Controls are options in MSN 8 that help parents protect children from viewing unsuitable Internet content and Web sites.
Parental Controls put you in charge of your children's online activity by helping you control what your children see and do on the Web, and with whom your children interact. Parental Controls provide protection beyond that of a Kids Passport. Through the use of Parental Controls, a Kids Passport becomes a restricted account over which you act as account manager.
With Parental Controls you can:
Block or allow access to Messenger.
Block or allow access to specific Web sites or pages.
Control who is on your child's Messenger contact list and who can use Messenger to contact your child.
Specify whether pictures and other files can be sent to your child through Messenger.
Review requests your child has made to access Web sites, and to add new e-mail and Messenger contacts.
Choose to receive an activity report so you can easily review your child's online activities.
Choose a home page for your child.
Choose to turn on Parental Controls in all programs that use the Internet.
