Apparently if its set to read only it is fixed and cant use the dynamic as it can do in Michelles solution.

Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type win386.swp.
In the Look in box, click Drive C, and then click Find Now.
Right-click the Win386.swp file, click Properties, and then click to clear the Read-only check box.
Click Apply, and then click Close.

I thought I would check this myself just out of curiosity. Result? No win386.swp file :mg:

I have it (Am on ME) and it wasn't checked read only.

Barra, I cant remember how we set it up as far as partitions go, maybe the swap file for your ME OS was located on a different drive or partition to C although I dont remember moving it.
Try doing a full search on all drives for it :doggie:

I did do a full search and it didn't show,but, I've just done it again and voila! It's there!  :)
