You have two choices; you can either install Microsoft's Personal Web Server, or you can cut Microsoft out of the equation and install Apache, the  Open Source HTTP server that is used in the majority of the World's servers.

Tough choice - not :D

I googled it before i posted here, the apache homepage was the first thing i came across. thats the one thing i hate about open source is their websites. They never have it simple. Why can't they just have a simple list

Unix
Unix-like
Linux
Win95
Win98
Win2000
Winxp

probably missed a few but wth. My point being most linux sites blow by being either to specific or not simplistic

how do i use apache. I installed the apache_1.3.28-win32-x86-no_src version on my win98 machine. It throughs up a dos window that says its started. i have no idea how to use it lmao. I thought it would be more like a ftp prog but i guess not. Here we go with the experimentation again uh?.. lol

Man this blows from an american standpoint. By yalls clock its 247am by mine its 847pm. Either i need to find another job lmao or yall need to stay up later

It is a server program Bob. It just sits there waiting for you to point your browser at it. Try http://localhost

To configure Apache, I think there is a httpd.conf file that you have to edit.
