Wi-Fi Technology
« on: July 23, 2004, 05:56 »
I?ve never used the technology of the ?Wi-Fi ?, and I don?t know exactly what do I need to have it on my PC. So, I do need your suggestions.

Our ISP is proposing to sell to us a card ?WiFi PCMCIA ? , to be inserted into the modem which they?ve provided us already.

They?re telling that we need another Wi-FI card in our PC.

I was searching the web to see what does that look like. It seems to me that it?s a card which must be inserted in one of the PCI slots on the motherboard.

Well, here, I have a problem. I don?t have a free PCI slot.

Is there a possibility to have a USB device which can do that job? Or, do you have any other suggestion?

Thanks in advance?

Netgear have several types of USB-WiFI adaptor Joudi.

Have a look at the MA111, WG121 and WG111 models on this website.

Thanks a lot Adept, that's a good news to me.    :)

Then I have to pass to the store to choose one, as it exists.

Adept:  Seems that they have different transmission power. What do you advice me?  And how many level of power exists in the market?

Thanks...
