You can gain some seconds while waiting the Internet page to open, when there are animated images on the page..

Go to ?Option Internet? in the ?Control Panel?, and take the option ?Advance?. Then, in the section ?Multimedia? you can untick: ?Play the animations?. Still you need to click ?OK?.

The result will be showing only the first image of the animation.

You would miss out on all the sigs on Pals if you did that

You might be right Clive. I didn't try it myself yet. I have to leave soon now. Well, I revised that point on the other site, and found that they're talking about "Internet Explorer 5".

Well, thought, logically, it must work for "Explorer 6" too. We need the confirmation from others about that then.

Well, in that case we need the help of a techie to tell us about the function of that option when it's ticked or not.

 Ok Simon, but that's an option which is there in internet explorer for something. Why when I tick it or untick it it doesn't make any difference? It must have a function. What is its' function?

I think that you will find that if its unticked it wont play animated gifs, they will only show the first frame and appear as static ones Joudi.
As Simon says, the sigs are flash animations so fortunately it wont stop those  

Sorry Joudi , I havent had time to try but ZA has a similar setting that stops animated gifs but not flash ones
