Opening compressed files
« on: February 25, 2004, 19:06 »
Hi,

Can anybody explain how to open them in simple terms?

I've downloaded a folder and have extracted the files. I'd like to get them to run, but there are 20 or so icons in the window. I'm confused.

Thanks

I assume its a zip or a rar file is it Phil ?
What have you opened it with to know that there are about 20 files inside ?
If you have unzipped a program and there is an icon called Setup or Setup.exe then just double click on that to install it  :)

Some file extractors, like WinZip, have an 'Install' button, which, when pressed, will usually find the installation file and run it for you, Phil.

Yes, I assume you are referring to Sandra's new pic.   :o  Isn't it funny how you get so used to someone looking exactly the same each day, you hardly recognise them in a different photo!

New Blond

it must be me - I'm a little dizzy when it comes to techy things.

Still, I'm up and running now.

Thanks Sandra.

Glad you sorted it Phil  :)

That was me last Saturday night just before I went out for a date with a lovely guy Clive, and Serenity ordered me to replace the old one with it  :(
