Mouse Prob

Hi folkz

Just a little niggly prob  >:( the mouse cursor sometimes when moving across the page changes shape..a bit like when a CD or DVD is entered in the draw and the ICON of a small cd/dvd comes up with the cursor....well this happens when nothing is in the drawers of the cd/dvd ..I have searched all over my PC to see if there is a problem......hope one of you kind people could shed some light on this one  :)

Have unistalled dvd/cd players have changed all sorts of cursors.

Edit  :-[  I have changed the mouse as well  ;D

It's not what you might call an obvious sign, but spyware can manifest itself in strange ways.  Have you done comprehensive spyware scans, Hook?  Perhaps post a Hijack This log on here?  Someone might spot something.  Otherwise, I wonder if there might be a foreign object of some desription in one of your drives, which is making it think a disc has been inserted?

Yes Simon I have an old HJ log that is clean and have compared it with that..so thats ok, I have recently installed a new DVD Rom (Aopen x 16) I wonder if thats the problem  >:(

Seems a bit of a coincidence.   :-\  Does the light on the drive flash when the mouse changes?

Dunno then.  ???  Perhaps it runs some sort of self diagnostic check every so often?  Can't think of anything else.

No ideas Hooky, but I just thought I would share this with you. I bought Packard Bell optical mouse. And it has always felt the urge to quickly visit the bottom of the screen on the odd occasion. Then it is normal again in a split second. As I run three monitors, with the taskbar on the left handside monitor, it just does a quick "exit stage left". I have never found what is causing it, but itis no sweat.

I have deleted the new DvD rom drive and it seems that is the cause of the offending flashing cursor with the CD icon flashing. cause it aint doing it now  >:(  now what, any ideas chaps and chappesses  ;D
