DoS Attack??
« on: August 06, 2004, 14:22 »
For the last hour, I have had considerably difficulty connecting to many websites.  In fact, PC Pals is the only one I can connect to at this moment.  Has anyone else had problems this afternoon?  I suspect a new worm, or a DoS attack.  Can't even log into my main e-mail account, but others seem fine.
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

Seems to be working better now, I managed to do a search for that error message and it turns out to be caused by Dial up Networking somehow.
Deleted it and its fine now  :)

"Fatal Exception OE At 0028:c001545a; Exception OE At 0028:c81oa23a In vxd AFVXD (01) +0000164a called from 0028:c00457ec in vxd ND15 (01) + 0000 4860"

Translation: You may encounter this error while surfing the Internet if you have a cable modem and Windows 98.

I have the solution if you still need it Sandra. It's pretty long and involves editing the registry. Neways, message me or post a reply if you're still having trouble.  ;D

Thanx to "PC Errors Solved!"  ;) lol

Thanks Hiatus but if you see my earlier post its sorted now  :)
I did the cable modem fault thing and it cured it after the first few steps, didnt need to do the regedit bit, just uninstalled all the unnecessary stuff in communications from add/remove in windows setup part.
The strange thing is I am on ADSL not cable and it was on a laptop that connects to the net and my network via wi fi, so it must have confused it  ;D
As I dont need dial up networking on it anyway I deleted it and its fine now  :)
