digital camcorder
« on: August 22, 2004, 22:12 »
OOOOnly meeeeee

Hi guys and gals

As per usual I'm not sure where to put this. So I'll put it here and powers that be can move it if need be.

Okey Kokey

I have a JVC digital camcorder gr-dv9500

I don't know much about this things but I took some shots with it, and it looks great on the camera - so I install all of the software on to the computer, read all of the instructions and guess what ...... No Picture, I can operated the camera with the mouse through the computer but I cannot see the film, I can however see stills that you can take with it.  I have been looking on the net and I wonder if I need to get a card ? MEEE something? does this mean anything to anyone? Please ?

oh thats it cammy, thats what I've seen on another website it says Ieee 1394 (Ieee not meee lol) that seems to be the card you are talking about too.

So looks like I need to get one of those then. The only thing is they talk about usb connections and this isnt.

It doesn't mention it in the instructions I have it seems to assume I have it. And I don't have the box, it was given to me second hand.

hmmm not sure about the OS it doesn't mention ME in the book only win 3.1 95/98 but it is quite an old camera. Could it be that then?  I could try and see if it works on sons puter he has 98.

Might be the problem ..there is a download for Direct X 8 for problems like yours with older Camera's But before you down load it I would like the more technical minded to say yes or no  ;D

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=34B85C47-51C1-4B32-81DD-0A5127C04979

If the link doesnt work..would a mod please rectify  ::)
