Might be a stupid question, but can you ask them what they did?

Just wondering, maybe they took a screenshot of your desktop, at 12:58, and used it as Wallpaper, which is what you are seeing?  They would have had to hide your normal desktop icons in a folder somewhere, and also hide the taskbar.  All you may need to do is find out where they've hidden them!

Have you tried doing a system restore?  That might just do the trick for you.

Thanks guys you were both right.  I changed the desktop background and all my icons were gone, meaning, like you said Simon, that they hid them in a folder somewhere.  However I did check the system restore and that put everything back to normal.   Thanks again, you guys are the best!!!
