hey all i want to buy a cheap but highish quality soundcard...can anyone recommend one ?

Do you want/need 5.1 or is stereo sufficient Jon ?
Which mobo are you fiiting the graphics card to and do you know what speed the AGP slot is ?

This one seems ok for the soundcard Jon and at quite a cheap price :

As for GFX cards you can never really go wrong with nvidia geforce these are 8x but will still work fine in a 4x slot :

what sort of condition is the Extigy...as i am a student i am on a budget and the Extigy does look very expensive and i would like to insult your intelligence with a silly offer...
