I have just checked an audio data disc, and although I haven't played it from start to finish, I can confirm that all folders open, and enclosed files play with no problem.

Thank you Simon, and sorry for the disturbance !!!

Well, that means I still have to:

- try to play them on another DVD drive.
-  try to copy on another DVD brand.

I don't see what else I can do !!!    ::)

-  Maybe my DVD writer is not working well too.    :-\

OUFFF ... and OUFFF ... and OUFFF ...  At last                Sorted !!!

It was the DVD brand (mark) which wasn't good. "Princo" DVD don't work correctly with "NEC".    :(

I'm using now "Verbatim" which is completely perfect.

Simon, thanks a lot for all your efforts following closely my problem.

Sandra, You are adorable        :hatoff:

I can't describe my gratitude to your patience and care toward me.

Thanks a lot!

I'm really disappointed.   :(    And almost fed up of the DVD burning and burners.

I've noticed that, when I burn the DVD, it works perfectly good and correct. (I mean when it's still hot). But if I wait till next day or more, it becomes unreadable.    :x

Simon, is your DVD burner like mine "NEC ND-2500A" ?

If yes, can you please tell me what brand of DVD you are using for it?

Thank you!!!

Any other idea will be welcome.

My DVD burner is a Sony DW-U14A, Joudi.  It's one of the earlier ones, and only 4X, which is quite slow these days.  The discs I have used successfully are called Zero Defex, and are available from www.cd-rmedia.co.uk, but I'm not sure if they ship outside the UK.  I have also had no problem with Maxell, and you can't go far wrong with TDK, but obviously you will be paying slightly more for the big brand names.

Well Simon, thanks for the information.

But I just was with Sandra on messenger, and found that this problem seems to happen not only to me. There are many others with other burners and other DVD brand and other burning programs, having the same problem, and not yet a satisfying answer for that mystery.

Lovely Sandra will continue searching for the answer, and so me too.

If some others like to participate in searching or in suggestions, their help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I still cant find anything as to what can cause your problem Joudi.
A few seem to have unreadable DVDs after varying periods but none just as quickly as yours become unreadable. No one has come up with any suggestions that I can see yet.
Maybe you could try a lens cleaner ?
I am unsure whether theres a single lens that both burns and reads the CDs/DVDs or not.
Maybe if the lens is dirty it may not be burning as deeply as it should do, although that seems unlikely  :(

In fact, I?m expecting not much of you anymore. Seems to me a mysterious unknown problem.

I bought today another new DVD burner (drive), (another mark). And the same symptoms are there after burning.

It?s really intriguing me. All your help (thanks a lot), and Sandras?, and two French forums couldn?t do anything.

Discouraging!!!     :chuckpc:

In which case, without wishing to state the obvious, it must be software related, Joudi, or something about the way you are using the software.  I assume you are using Nero?  Have you got the latest version?  Have you considered trying alternative software?

Right, so three different softwares, and two different DVD Drives give the same results?  Surely, that only leaves a limited number of other solutions - one being operator error, another being something else!     It may give one of the techies something more to go on, if the options are narrowed down, Joudi.  ;)
