losing network connection
« on: February 04, 2005, 09:17 »
i'm typing this on my dads laptop, so please forgive any odd typos. this morning, when istarted up my, i noticed that it refused to connect to any new servers(including anything on my network) after about 10 ninutes of use, and that the only way to be able to connect was to restart my pc. anything hat was already conected was fine(mirc, msn, aim, stuff like that), but if they disconnected, it wouldn't reconect. i got told by someone on irc that this could be a winsock proble. if t is, howwould i sort this out?

Have you rebooted your router ?
I have had the same thing happen to me and usually just switching the router on and off has cured it.

i know it's mypc because every other pc in the house works fine. anyway, that's the first thing i tried.

[edit] also, i can't access my xbox by ftp, and that's conected directly to my pc. i can ping it though.

[edit2] ok, nevermind, i've decided to format. i've noticed other not so annoying problems building up anyway, and it's bee months since i formatted anyway. i'm moving files aound nw.
