All this ballyhoo about copying cds, why was it nobody bothered when we used to copy all our friends LPs onto Cassettes and vice versa.????

I didn't see anybody being put in jail for illegal copying of music onto cassette.

You're quite right, Lona - oh, for the good old days!  Unfortunately, times change, and not always for the better.  ;)
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

I've got loads of cassettes.  I wonder if I would get in trouble if I copied them all and sold them on ebay.  :D  :D  :D

Personally, I allow myself to copy and to download. Not in a purpose of selling to others and get profits, no!

I do that just because I know that I have paid thousands of French francs (hundreds of dollars) for audio CD's.

My income was very limited then. I had to pay more than 15 or 20 dollars just to buy a simple audio CD.

I think that they got too much money of a limited resources guy like me. They are already rich, and they are massacring people more and more by imposing prices beyond logic.     :(

They can (if they want) fix more realistic prices for their products to help people not to search illegal ways to get them. But when they ask toooooo much money, I think, it?s them who are causing the illegal reaction.

Well said Joudi.
In fact its even worse here in the UK as CDs and DVDs, and almost everything else that people buy, seem to cost us even more here than in the rest of europe and america.

It shows how much they wanted to be able to rip us off in the UK by making DVDs regional so even if we bought the cheaper american region 1 DVDs we couldnt easily play them in the UK.

Fortunately most DVD players can now play all regions so it may not be too many years before they drop the regions and make them all the same and hopefully charge everyone a fairer price

Just think a while:

What actors and singers are doing as a harder job than those poor Africans (or others), who leave their needing family and children to come to work here in the west, submitted to « Modern Slavery » system?

Why that hard working African gets only ?Just what he needs to eat? as an income, while an actor gets millions of dollars just for one film?

What an actor is providing to humanity more than a poor and hard-working guy?

Is there any justice in that?

Isn't that a form of theft and cheating?

Plus, that industry (of theives), wants people to work and buy their product by none realistic price !      :tony:
