Make Panoramic Photos?
« on: July 26, 2005, 20:34 »
Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions of software that will enable me to create panoramic photos from a set of normal photos.

For example bring 4 photos together to create a revolving 3d photo that  a user can control.

Such photos can be seen at http://www.panoshow.com

The only software I know of is Quicktime VR but it is very expensive.

I know I've used something before that came bundled with a webcam or digital camera, but can't seem to find it.

Cheers

There is a program called AutoStitch which is a free download.  It seems to be recommended.

:thanks: Clive,

I'll have a look at that.

The one I used to use is Panorama Maker 3 (made by ArcSoft). I still have it installed on one PC, but need to use it on my laptop.  I'll have to do a clear out tomorrow and look for the CD!

EDIT - Just found out I can download a 15 day trial version from the website - that'll do for now!

Im pretty sure you can do this with a calculator and ms paint. Just add up the combined width and height, change the attributes and paste and position carefully.

Hi, DJ.

Most of the cheap basic digital cameras sold for about twelve quid on Ebay come with a complete selection of full version Arcsoft software.  I bought a keyring camera on there and Panorama Maker was one of the programs that came with it.  Therefore, after the fifteen days is up (assuming you want the program) you might want to look there.  It will probably be cheaper than paying Arcsoft for the program and you'll get a camera thrown in.   :D
