I think it's three years now Simon, well it will be Jan 27th. To be honest I think I have bought three packets of ten due to stressfull times. But it was like having your throat cut by a blunt tree felling saw. The secret is never let such short comings be considered as failures, more a realisation that giving up was the right thing to do.

Come on Lona and Sandra give up the evil weed, it's easy I've done it loads of times.

Hi, stranger, I'm being forced to give up owing to heart attack in November 20th.

I've been assured that if I don't give up I will be back in hospital inside 6 months. :cry

I have enough weeds to last till tomorrow night and after that it's cold turkey. :cry

I've managed it before for 2 years but started again because I missed my fags. This time I will have to make a better effort and remain a non smoker. I have always said non smokers have no personality.

Sorry to hear about your ill health Lona - no wonder you have been somewhat quiet of late. Cold turkey with lots of determination is the only way to go. It's not easy but so worth it in the long run. I know you can do it Lona. I did and so did Simon. 8)

Yes, sorry to hear you've been ill, Lona, but as Tony said, at least you're still here to tell the tale. You have to treat this as a warning, I'm afraid, and really set your mind on giving up the ciggies. I wish you the very best of luck with it, and good health for the new year. IT CAN BE DONE!!

Blimey! Sorry to hear about your dodgey ticker, Lona. Still, it's better to stop smoking than to stop breathing. I'm back on the evil gum again now. I did give up for the best part of a year, but my previous two girlfriends were both smokers and I didn't have much choice - if I wanted to continue practising my procreational skills.
