Hi there.  I am trying to run a torrent (download) and when it starts up, it gives the error "Couldn't listen, unable to forward port via UPnP.  Here is the problem though.  My roommate came back from break and reconnected to the router and I found out the hard way that my IP was changed, so I went the router web site and changed the port forwarding to my new IP it gave me, but I am still unable to run any torrents .  My windows firewall is on but it has BitTornado and all the ports are open???

You have a dynamic IP not a static one but that shouldnt cause a problemas thats your WAN IP address.

The IP address that needs to be in your router is the LAN IP address of the computer that you are using the Bit Torrents client on.

If you go to your pcs network conections folder and click on your LAN connection icon it will show you your pcs LAN IP address at the bottom left side of the folder, under the Details section.

Thats the IP address that you need to have in the router for the ports that you wish to open.

Bit Torrents work in the range starting from 6881, from memory, so if you open a range of say 6881 to 6886 that should work ok

So do I just go to the support tab and then put in the address there in right side that is the default gateway?

Depending on the type of router you have you may have to go to settings for VPN or Port Forwarding. Different makes use different terminology.

The default gateway is the routers IP address, thats what you put in IE to access the settings.

You need to find your pcs LAN IP as I described before and enter that and the range of ports to allow to be open or forwarded to that pcs IP address.

If you still cant understand what I am saying then post the make and model of your router and I will see if I can find out where the settings are in your model.
