UK internet users over 50 are asked to take part in Silver Surfer Week events across the country and have a go at surfing the internet.
Silver surfer week aims to help Britons over 50 have a good first experience of the internet and learn how it can enhance their lives.
From 22 to 26 May, older people will be able to attend free computer and internet training sessions at venues across the UK.
Internet workshops teach people to bank and shop online, as well as book holidays and keep in touch with family and friends via email.
Gordon Lishman, director general of UK charity, Age Concern, said: ?There's so much out there on the web for older people. Accessing services and doing your shopping online can be a real lifeline for some. While for others, it's a great way to pursue hobbies or even meet new friends online.?
