UK version of Google Pack launches
« on: July 06, 2006, 15:56 »
Google has today released Google Pack beta for the UK, a free collection of 'safe, useful software'.

The programmes come from Google and other companies, and are designed ?to improve user experience online and on the desktop?.

Google Pack includes:

Adobe Reader
Ad-Aware SE Personal
GalleryPlayer HD Images
Google Desktop
Google Pack Screensaver
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox with Google Toolbar
Picasa
Norton AntiVirus with 6 months of free protection updates
RealPlayer

Google Pack includes the Google Updater which downloads, installs and maintains all the software in the pack. Google Updater alerts users when new

Users can also select which programs they want to install. For programs already installed on a computer, Google Updater will detect them and check whether the latest version is running. If not, Google Updater will install the latest version.

Every program included in the Google Pack is free.

Google said it ?respects users' rights to control their own computers and does not include software that is spyware, generates pop-ups, or that is difficult to uninstall.? Additional information on Google's Software Principles is available at

Google Pack beta for the UK runs on Windows XP, and supports Firefox 1.0 and higher and Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher.

Theres about 3 or 4 good apps mixed in with a bunch of crap that I would remove in a cleaning.

Why would someone use firefox if they wanted toolbars.  :?
