Connected to wireless router but no internet???
« on: December 02, 2006, 16:16 »
Hi,

I recently got Sky Broadband with the free wireless router. Everything's working fine, but I've tried today to connect my laptop up. I made the connection to the router OK and the network is showing as healthy but I don't know how to connect to the internet. Tried internet options, but nothing obvious there.

Can anyone help? My desktop is connected to the router via a patch lead and connected to the net without having to set anything up.

Cheers
Phil

You will have to go into your reuter settings Phil, and set up wireless connection.

Your laptop should find the connection ok, providing it has a wireless card or dongle.

You need to run the wi fi wizard on the laptop as well as doing as Lona said about the routers wi fi settings.

Leave the WEP or WPA off the router until you have got the network set up then enabe it.
