Passwords What can I Use?
« on: September 12, 2007, 10:36 »
Hi Everyone
Is there any software out there which can use to keep all my passwords safe.  I know that windows will keep all your password for you, but I dont like to save my passwords from sites Iv visited, so i never add save passwords in Options, what I want is something that I can store my passwords in in stead of writing them down on paper, is there such a thing?, I'm sure you guys can help me as always

Thanks

If you use a Palm OS device, Kaz, then look at Top Secret, as this will handle the passwords on the desktop and the PDA.

It would be if saved to a floppy or a USB flash drive  :)

Easily added to or edited when necessary too.

It would if you didn't give it to anyone. If your worried about other people using your computer in your home then compress it with winrar. You can password up your passwords. :-)

Great!
thanks for that.
Just out of interest how do you all keep your passwords safe, and do you trust Internet Exp or Firefox to keep your passwords?

I use a weird and wonderful browser called Avant which remembers  all my passwords in a similar way to Firefox and IE7.

Firefox has a Password Manager, which you can set a Master Password for to make secure.  It would save having another application to deal with, Kaz, but I have to be honest and say that I only use Password Managers for forums and online retailer logins.  I wouldn't trust one to look after the password for my bank, or credit card online facilities.

on line or anything other than in my ''secret hideaway''

cheers its good to get feedback from all you peolpe and you then look at things in a different light still undecided thou
