i use 7zip its also free and fast

it opens just about any file
RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS

No i haven't tried anything else, but i'm sure i seen this recommended somewhere and would expect their other software would be worth a try if you required it.
