BENQ monitor problem
« on: January 19, 2008, 18:32 »
My pc monitor has no picture.  I have a 17" BENQ monitor, purchsed about 18 months ago, it has always worked well but suddenly for no reason it turned on and faintly flashed the BENQ logo then the screen went completely blank and I cant seem to solve the problem,  all leads etc are tightly in situ.  Have you any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?  :dunno:  Unfortunately I don't still have the receipt

Is there a front-panel LED for power, Serenity? If so, is that lit. If not, have you checked any fuses.

Do you have another machine you could test the monitor on?

If you've tried a different (working) lead or checked power is getting to the monitor and it's still not working then it looks like you may be covered...

You should still be able to print off your invoice from e-buyer.

Thanks for the replies Rik and Camm  :-*  Yes, the monitor is receiving power (green light on)  I have tried changing leads and attached it to an alternative PC but still no joy.  Camm, thank you for the link  :thumb: I have located my order and have submitted the query form to the appropriate department, fingers crossed its a matter of replacing it, but you know what 16yr old's are like, its like having their arm chopped off if they cant use their PC so I am being nagged to death to sort it quickly! ::)

It sounds a bit like a backlight failure. :(

Or it could just be plain knackered.  ;)

In Australia BENQ monitors have proven to be pretty unreliable, with circuit board, backlight inverter or psu problems. You could get a quote to have it repaired but it
might not be worth it.
