Hi
I have just bought a 10'' netbook it has come with Windows XP Home service pack 3 on it.
I am trying to update it to Windows XP Pro servcie pack 2.
I thought this was just an upgrade from home to pro as I have done in the past, but it is saying that the version of windows on my computer is newer than the one I'm trying to install yet it is Home on my pc and I want to upgrade to XP Pro is it because of the service pack maybe?
It want's me to do a new installation not an update what do I do?

You can't update Home SP3 to Pro SP2, you'd need to roll back to SP2 on the netbook at the very least. AAMOI, why do you want to make the change?

Hi Rik,
I thought Pro has more functions I'm used to Pro thats all, so what I need to do is get XP PRO with service pack 3 then? :dunno:

As a matter of interest. :)

I don't think you stand to gain anything by running Pro on a netbook, to be honest. If you do want to, you'd need and OEM or retail copy and licence, but be aware that you may lose drivers specific to the netbook in the process.
