Google tweaks Search results
« on: March 24, 2009, 16:52 »
Google has made two changes to the Google Search results page.

The changes involve providing more information related to your search as well as increasing the length of the description of the search results.

According to the company first change will enable Google to recognise a greater number of queries and languages and deliver more relevant terms.

The second change extends the excerpt quoted under each result, but only when you enter search terms longer than three words.

For instance if you searched for a restaurant review containing all parts of the meal, Google will now extend the snippet under the search result, highlighting the words from your search term.

"These are just two recent examples of improvements we've made," Google engineers wrote on the blog.

"We are constantly looking for ways to get you to the web page you want as quickly as possible."
