Adblock Plus

Does anyone use this, or am I asking for trouble? Does it work, or is it just designed to crash the browser? A couple of local news sites I go on have so many ads on them it is like walking along Blackpool Prom during the Autumn illuminations just looking at the screen.
Thanks.

I've known people to use it, with mixed results, but only on Firefox, Dave. It may work better on SeaMonkey, but bear in mind, it's not as easy to uninstall add-ons from SM as it is from Firefox, so I would suggest installing
Extension Manager
before trying any other add ons.

Thanks, Simon. I was sort of aware that some people have had problems after installing it. Having thought about it, as it is only these two local news sites that annoy me, I think I'll give it a miss.
Thanks again.

I use it Dave and its been good.Had a little bit of bother a while back with slow page loading and people suggested it may be Adblock but I never confirmed it was. It just runs and stops all the crap to be honest, when I go back onto IE
its surprising how much it does block out.

I've used it for years. I used just regular adblock before ABP came out. All it does is filter the web using a blacklist of domains. If the ad is still appearing all you need do is add it's domain to the blacklist and presto, no more ad. If anything it should speed your browser up, because it spares it from having to load craptons of flash ads.
