My SMTP server for BT was mail.btinternet.com but since I have switched to IDNet it should be smtp.idnet.com .  Why is my OE working as if I haven't changed providers?  I'm very happy to let this continue as long as BT aren't charging me for it but how can I tell?  Should I use the IDNet smtp for outgoing mail anyway?

It's unusual, these days for you to be able to use an unauthenticated SMTP server, Clive, so I would recommend switching to the IDNet one.
