IDNet introduces new download allowances
« on: February 02, 2010, 14:38 »
As from February 1, the new packages are:

MAX (up-to-8Mbps) packages:

Home PAYG: 2GB peak, 10GB off-peak
Home Lite: 10GB peak, 30GB off-peak
Home Max: 30GB peak, 60GB off-peak
Home SuperMax: 40GB peak, 140GB off-peak

ADSL2+ (up-to-24Mbps) packages:

Home Starter: 4GB peak, 20GB off-peak
Home Plus: 15GB peak, 65GB off-peak
Home Pro: 40GB peak, 140GB off-peak
Home SuperPro: 60GB peak, 300GB off-peak

Increases include doubling the download allowances of Home PAYG, Home Starter & Home Lite, as well as adding large off-peak allowances to all MAX (up-to-8Mbps) services, equating to at least a 3-fold increase. They have also increased all the peak & off-peak allowances of ADSL2+ (up-to-24Mbps) packages - doubling them overall.

How much is the Home Max?

Do you get a static IP with it and how much web space?

It's more inclined to commercial hosting, Cam, so it's not cheap. How complex a site do you want, how much bandwidth?

I'm not sure exactly but it's not that much at all.

I was thinking i may do my hosting separate anyway as it then wouldn't tie me to a ISP as much.

I'm thinking of changing ISP from Plusnet as they aren't as good since the dreaded BT got their hands on them  :-\

IDNet may not be the cheapest, although the new packages do make them more competitive, but they excel at customer service, and there's no port throttling or traffic shaping to worry about, for which you do pay a slight premium, which is worthwhile, in my opinion.
