I dont think it will be long before the god botherers are up in arms against it.
Thats one thing that all religions have in common, they have all tried to hold back scientific advances as much as possible

OTOH, letting something into the wild can have unforeseen consequences. For example, someone brought back grey squirrels from the States and they pretty much wiped out the native Reds. Once the genie is out of the bottle, it's hard to put it back.
