There were three Englishmen who were friends, and each of them married a
Celtic maiden, because they had heard how loving, kind, sympathetic and
generally pleasant these beautiful girls are. The three friends had a joint
wedding ceremony, then set off on their separate honeymoons, and came home
to begin their lives of wedded bliss.

After a couple of weeks, the three men met up for a drink and to discuss how
things were going.

The first guy had married a beautiful girl from the magnificent Scottish
highlands. He said, when we came home from the honeymoon, I took my wife
into the kitchen and said, "This is your room. You will cook me three proper
meals a day, and clean the house from top to bottom every week." I couldn't
see any improvement for the first couple of days, but by the end of the
first week, the meals were coming on time, and the house was spotless.

The second guy had married a fair Gaelic Princess from the magical Kerry
peninsular. He told a similar story, of a wonderful honeymoon followed by a
trip to the kitchen and instructions to his new wife. I couldn't see much
improvement during the first week, but by half-way through the second week,
the meals were fine and the house was clean and tidy.

The third guy had made the best choice of all, and had married the fairest
damsel in the quaint, traditional, Welsh village of Merthyr Tydfil. He even
found out that her father had once held a job down for a couple of weeks,
and very few of her family were currently serving prison sentences or
performing community service orders. (She had once even taxed her car!)
Again he told a similar tale. We had a wonderful honeymoon, and I took my
wife into the kitchen when we returned home, and told her what she should be
doing. I couldn't see anything for the first week, but about half-way
through the second week, the swelling had started to go down and I could see
a little out of the corner of my left eye.
