Nexus S Runs Ubuntu; Linux Replaces...Linux

It seems like hackers who inatall the Android operationing system on everything decided to mix it up a bit. The folks over at XDA Developers have successfully ported Ubuntu HD2 version 0.3 to the Samsung Nexus S phone. You read that correctly: They replaced a Linux-based OS (Android) with a Linux-based OS (Ubuntu).

They've been putting Android on iPhones too.  Can't see the point.  If you want an Android phone, buy one.  If you want an iPhone, buy that!

yeah but then there is the "can I do it?" attitude. Also android is better than the iphone os, however the iphones are cutting edge in screen tech. If I had the time I'd probably mess around with it - though I don't even own a smart phone.

The Andriod OS may be 'better' then iOS (it's certainly more configurable), but I think the 'pot luck' app store lets it down somewhat.

Yeah, I just feel there should be some soft of approval system for the apps, but I expect it will come.

Well they are checked, I thought, for malicious code.  Apart from that, why check?

Weren't there a couple of apps removed because of malicious code?  Removed from phones, that is.  I'm not knocking Android, it's alright, but at the moment, I just prefer the iPhone.
