I can recall not having a pocket calculator! 

Yes slide rules were the cutting edge in the early 70's. Do you remember the calculator kits from Sinclair that came out in the mid 70's and cost a relative fortune. ?

Vaguely, Dave.  The first calculator I remember was a Philips, but I always wanted a Casio.  ;D

The first go at a computer for me was when my Boss went out I thought I would have a go. Got stuck on some blasted Porn Site that wouldnt go away!! Had to get his Daughter to clear it for me. She found it most amusing, although she didnt say anything; at least I dont think so!!! :not:

how old was the daughter :p

I loved slide rules but I doubt if I could use one after so many years of using calculators.  Yes, I remember the Sinclair calculator kits although I never bought one.  I do however remember his crystal radio sets - and I did buy one of those!   ;D
