Firefox Browser and AVG
« on: October 13, 2012, 20:01 »
This latest update to Firefox Browser is driving me bloody mad. Does nothing but freeze, crash, and fails to keep me logged in to sites. Is it the Browser or is it not compatible with AVG Antivirus free 2013?

    >:(

I think both pieces of software have sunk into the realms of the untouchables and I wouldn't allow either on my computer.  Interesting thread about Firefox:  http://www.pc-pals.com/smf/index.php
A better alternative to Firefox is Chrome - even Mrs Clive has made the switch.  If you want a less intrusive antivirus then try Avast or Avira.  Both are free and neither are bloatware.

I think Clive was probably referring to this thread:

I though you were on SeaMonkey, DG.  Did that not work out for you?

Switched to Chrome tonight, and seems a lot quicker and stable at the mo. I will probably be ok with it when I get it to suit me, with sorting Bookmarks and options etc. Will have a look at those other free Antivirus tomorrow Clive, got to take out Toby the dog now. I thought AVG was getting bloated.
Simon I did try Sea Monkey but didnt seem to click with me.

I really must update my Photo on here, lol. I could be done under the "False Information Act"

I think Firefox is doomed to be consigned to the dustbin of history.  What went wrong?   :dunno:
