Two vampires were sitting around in their castle in Transylvania talking about how they were tired of the local food. Since both were of the opinion that some Italian food would make a nice change, they transformed into bats and winged their way over to Italy.
After a flight lasting a couple of hours they set down in Venice and went looking for dinner. Soon, they discovered a nice dark bridge over a canal as an ideal place to have their meal.
They hunkered down in the eerie semi-darkness of a moonlit night and waited. Then after a short while, an Italian couple came drifting along the waterway in a gondola. Waiting until they passed under the bridge, the vampires grabbed them and sucked them dry until not a single drop of blood remained in their now lifeless bodies, which they then unceremoniously tossed into the water.
As they licked their lips, they discussed how good Italian food was and decided it was so nice they would like seconds. So they lay in wait in the shadowy darkness until another young couple came floating along the canal, whereupon the vampires grabbed them, sucked every drop of blood from their bodies and tossed them over the side of the bridge as before.
Although the vampires were feeling pretty full by now, they decided to make it a really special night and have some dessert as well. So they soon spied another couple approaching the bridge. Very soon, this couple, too, found themselves subdued and their bodies sucked dry.
Yet again the vampires tossed the dead bodies into the canal after they had fed from them.
Eventually, the vampires were completely satiated and just about to change form and fly home again to avoid being caught by the coming dawn, but suddenly stopped when they heard someone singing at the top of their voice.
Not wanting to be seen, they stealthily searched for the source, but a furtive glance up and down the road proved that they were the only ones on the bridge. The song actually seemed to be coming from the canal. Cautiously, they approached the rail and peered over.
Sure enough right there in the water was a crocodile. He was munching on the dead bodies and singing,
Drained wops keep falling on my head...
