You probably need to use Norton's own uninstall tool to get rid of it fully, Den. I remember, even back in 2005 when I last used it, it was a nightmare to remove.

I always use iobit uninstaller
www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php
but make sure you uncheck the crapware boxes for Advanced System Care etc.

I've just taken that off both my computers as I have removed all iobit programs as they were coming resource hogging.

Advanced System Care was a real resource hogger. But I don't allow the uninstaller to load at start up.

That probably also means the biggest ever. Might as well just leave the computer on overnight.

The reviews so far are very good indeed. You can also defer the update for 3 days (this applies to all W10 updates in the future) so you can let other people take the chances with it.

So, "We" will let you know when "we" are about to perform the upgrade, and give the mere parasite who owns the computer the option to defer it at that stage?

I would rather Microsoft keep updating W10 than just leave it be. At least that way we know that it is more secure as opposed to letting it become out of date and prone to attack by others .
Some of the improvements sound fantastic to be honest.

These are worrying times! It's taken me nearly a year to recover my netbook from a Windows update. But it's working normally again now. It's still crap - sorry Rik.

I updated my desktop overnight and all went well. Edge was already good but now it is amazing and everything seems quicker and smoother.
