Topic: Windows 10 May update

Well everyone the Windows 10 May Major update is here. Installed it last night on my desk top. Had to remove a usb memory stick first and all went well.

Computer running very smooth and will check it out fully over the next few days.

I think I can delay my last remaining Windows 10 Pro laptop by up to a year.  Windows 10 updates have been responsible for wrecking two other laptops and a netbook.

Mine had a couple of small updates during the week.  The calm before the storm, perhaps?  Since my laptop went berserk a few months ago, and I had to restore Windows and reinstall all my programs, I think I've left Windows Updates to do it's own thing, as letting them build up seemed to be even worse than getting them drip fed individually.

I really think Windows 10 is a travesty of an operating system.  Obviously it can do no wrong for fanboys like Dennis, but I'm really not looking forward to the demise of my beloved (and perfectly working) Windows 7 on my Desktop PC, and may well just upgrade that to Windows 8.1, which at least allows the user to keep control of most things.   With Windows 10, it makes me feel that M$ are insulting the user's intelligence, by assuming it knows best.    ':|

I would just stay with Win 7 Simon.  Lots of people plan to do that and I'm sorry in my heart that I wasn't one of them.

On a side note my Windows 95 updates seem to have dried up a bit recently

I am so ashamed to announce that both my computers have developed a problem.

They are running so smoothly they are just like new computers with all my old programmes still working fine, even my old MS works database.

Bring back Windows 7 I say.

You should know by now, you've got to be doing something critical, which hasn't yet been saved, for anything to start going wrong!

I run my accounts package, intruder alarm/cctv database and all Community Council Data on my desktop so I'm using it all the while.
