I've been converted  ;D

Since my online bank now supports Mozilla I've installed it and am giving it a go.

Will do a quick report sometime next week if I remeber  ;)

At least it'll keep Simon happy  ::)

I have found Mozilla really quick so far.

Just a few queries...

    • How to I get new pages to load as tabs and not a new browser ? (I have changed the option in preferences as shown below - but they still open in a new browser).  For example when loading threads on the forum or hitting CTRL + N
    • Which Theme do you recommend for a modern blue look if possible.
    • Where is the HOME button ? I know you can hit Alt + Home - but is there a HOME button similar to BACK, FORWARD and RELOAD?
    • Why to the smilies on the forum not line up in a straight line?

    Thnaks all

    Hi DJ,

Tabs: You want to untick that top box, where it says 'Hide the tab bar...', then in the broswer window, click View > Show / Hide, and tick Tabs Bar.

The theme I have is 'Modern', but you can get loads by clicking View > Apply Theme > Get More Themes.  I have only used the one, so I can't really recommend any others, but you can see screenshots of them on the download sites.

    Here's the Home Button.

Smilies?  Nobody really knows, but we suspect Adept might have been drinking when he lined them up!

    :baad:

Anything else?  Have you got the IE View plug in?  You can get loads of extra toys from the Extension Room.

      Download Multizilla DJ.

      What's all the fuss about?
MultiZilla was the first browser extension to introduce the Tabbed UI for mozilla. Current mozilla builds make use of this idea but it is only partly integrated by the mozilla team, so MultiZilla still has lots of extra features that cannot be found in todays mozilla builds (even mozillaFirebird adds even more MultiZilla features like middle-click on bookmarks and some of the tabgroup features). However, we constantly work on new improvements and bug fixes. We're also very keen on keeping our users satisfied and work closely together towards a next release.

Ok Boss - I've downloaded it and it works a treat. Cheers Adept :adept:

I also found a great theme called Pinball thats now installed and also have the Home buttom installed.

I'm starting to like this Mozilla thing  ;D

Just one more thing... if people use the glow font on the forum it shows up as the following in mozilla. See HERE for an example. Any suggestions?

It's Mozilla's way of making glow fonts readable DJ.   Brilliant isn't it?  ;D

I found the following link - does it have anything to do with it

      http://tinyurl.com/34poh

But - I won't be held responsible if the whole board crashes due to this mod  ;D ;D ;D

Well, it looks interesting, DJ, but obviously the only person who can decide, is Sean.   :)

Its not that much of a problem anyway.

As Clive says the glow font is sometimes really hard to read - maybe its a good thing that Mozilla doesn't support it  ;)

Moz doesn't support the code for the glowing font (and a good thing too IMHO!)

The link you gave was for a different board DJ, the one that this one was based on. PC-Pals uses YaBBSE software which is PHP-based whereas the link you gave is for YaBB which is Perl-based.

How could I have been so stupid  ::)  :P

I agree that the glow font is a bit hard to read at the best of times - I'll think of Mozillas way of dealing with it as a 'feature'  ;D
