Several things worth considering:

1. Try using round IDE cables.
2. Insert a case fan (front and/or back) - if already fitted then check that one is blowing and the other sucking.
3. Insert an 'exhaust blower' extraction fan - occupies a PCI space in the case.
hey promised the earth! Then delivered mud.
Technically it did meet the spec.

I've overkilled on cooling with my 2000XP and at max it goes up to 51C when playing Desert Combat which is a very CPU intensive game. I have 3 system fans, 2 intake 1 exhaust, 1 exhaust blower under my Ti4200, a HDD cooler and upgraded my CPU cooler from a 60mm fan to 80mm fan  ;D

Si Soft Sandra has a temp monitor in one of its modules, dont know how accurate it is but I assume it somehow reads the info from the BIOS  :)
