EU preparing huge dossier on Google competition

Google is facing a massive dossier of anti-competition objections from the European Commission.

According to a report in The Financial Times, the search giant will be hit with a 400-page Statement of Objections, following complaints from rival search companies Foundem, eJustice and Ciao.

Google faces allegations that it favours its own products and services in search results.

Citing sources close to the case, the FT said the Commission would detail the allegations early next year and that the file was so hefty because it combined several cases.

I have to admit, I've never even heard of Foundem, eJustice and Ciao.  Other than a brief encounter with an Android phone, I don't think I've ever knowingly bought a Google product following a search.
