Threatfire

Anyone tried this active malware detector. I installed it about a week ago to replace the increasingly intrusive and resource hogging spyware terminator and so far there have been no complications.   :)

Apparently, according to what popped up on Google, it used to be CyberHawk, and we had a couple of threads on it, of which you were one of the participants, Dave.  I hope it's improved since then.  :)

:o :o :o Simon, coincidentally i looked at those threads this afternoon and laughed at all the aggravation it caused, of course i'm far more careful these days . I can safely say it's not as problematic as it was back then as Cyberhawk, the reviews online i've seen have all been good, however you've sown a large seed of doubt in my mind now so i may just try uninstalling it briefly and see what happens.

Sorry to have burst your bubble, Dave.  ;)  I'm sure the latest incarnation is a big improvement, given that those threads are nearly three years old now.  :)

A lot, with F-Secure Internet Security installed.  F-Secure doesn't play nicely with other security software, but does the job well enough all on it's own.  ;)

RE F-secure isn't NOD32 the best "pay for" antivirus anymore ? (i'm still a cheapskate using Avast free)

There have been quite a few issues with NOD / ESET updates causing problems with the program (check out Wilders for further info).  F-Secure isn't the best known security suite, but it just quietly does it's job with very little hassle.  I haven't had a virus or any spyware in the three years I've been using it.

I have F-Secure on one PC and Avast on the other.  My Mac is still unprotected.   :)
