Could have done with something like that a few weeks ago.  I wonder what the catch is, with it being freeware?  Those sorts of progs usually cost quite a bit.

It says that it does FAT and NTFS in the first bit then has this later :

Finds partitions automatically, even if the boot sector or FAT has been erased or damaged (does not work with the NTFS file system)

Maybe it has some other restictions on NTFS, which more and more PCs are now using, so that you would have to "upgrade" to a better paid for version  :(

I've downloaded the file but can't work out how you get it to work.  The help box is not at all helpful.
I am a novice at computer maintainance.

My pc is a laptop which originally had windows NT on it but now has XP and Internet Explorer 6 and AOL.

I had an e-mail virus which now appears to be cleaned, but has left the computer unstable as I have problems downloading files.  Some download OK and others won't load at all or only partially load like AOL has.  Therefore I have problems with getting onto the internet as its hit and miss whether AOL will start as it keeps freezing at the "Starting AOL" stage.  AOL have said that it's a windows problem.

I thought this programme would sort out the damaged files, but I don't know how to use this programme.

Any help would be appreciated.
